Jangi Jilingar Menen!

Or, Happy New Year! in Kyrgyz.

Well, it's been a crazy couple months.  I made it through finals week and then promptly started trying to forget it ever happened.  My two weeks at home in DC were just what I needed to recuperate/rejuvenate.  And then I took a 3-day trip to Perugia when I got back to find my balance and see some of this lovely country.  It really is a magical place.  Here are some of my favorite pictures from my trip.

The lights are no longer strung up across the canal in the Navigli District, which means the holiday season must be over.  This bums be out a bit --Milano was so pretty with it's sparkling lights and lanterns glittering every night.  But I (like the rest of the world) am excited for the new year and what it will bring.  My internship with Futures Group in Washington DC was officially confirmed today!  www.futuresgroup.com

Other good news:  I found out I passed my Quantitative Methods class today!  This is a true accomplishment for me, and I feel elated and grateful.  I was in such a good mood that I actually told some friends I would sign up for a half-marathon with them.  It's at the end of March, and I've never done anything like that before.  I must be losing my mind...

Here's a picture of my very talented brother's henna tattoo that he did for my equally talented marine-biologist sister.  Groovy!
